Ok, so I couldn't help it. I was browsing through the galleries and I saw this and it was all over. I put it in my favorites and kept looking just in case. NOTHING I saw captured my heart as much as this layout, and even tho we all know Jenn does awesome designs, I think sometimes we forget that she is an awesome layout designer too!!!

I don't ever CLOSE the lifts, they'll always be available and I'll upload any latecomers when I get them, but the contest / Featured Designer Goodies end on Saturday midnight of each week. The photo albums will remain on the site.

We're Home!

I am home and we are safe! We have been surveying the damage and any wild brush that was around our house is completely burned. We live in a very protected place - thank GOD!!!

it's horribly ashy, everything smells like smoke, but we lost nothing and no one in our condo complex had any damage either. 1 block north, east and west of us - all burned. As far as we know so far, a few homes that border our street lost their backyards, and nearly all of vegetation is gone - and Whiting Ranch is basically GONE. It was a huge hiking biking wilderness park that surrounded Foothill Ranch.

One scary incident happened yesterday where I had brought some stuff home and as we were driving out I saw a huge flare up with black smoke. I was trying to avoid the traffic so I went a small street to cut out the closed intersection and we came to a street where people had just JUMPED out of their cars and were running with cameras to take pictures (I won't cuss and tell you what i yelled as I realized that we were trapped with fire coming AT us because of those idiots who had to take a picture) I was hammering on my horn and yelling to MOVE and GET OUT if the way - I have a child in the car!!!!!!!" and they finally moved but not before melissa saw a wall of 20-30 feet of fire coming at us. It was horrifying. The other part of the horiffic nature was that only 20 minutes before we had driven by and in that exact spot there were 3 firemen sleeping on cots in front of a fire engine and for a while I did not know if they had been burned up while sleeping or not. I am afraid I was SO shaken last night that I couldn't be rational and refused to go home, even tho it was safe last night, albiet smoky.

I have a lot of washing of clothes and unpacking of stuff, so I might be scarce for a while - but I appreciate the prayers for our family! We were held tight by God due to your prayers and we thank you so much!

I will be getting up last week's lifts and get back on track really soon!

Fires in Southern California Update

Hey Lifts with a Twist Subscribers!

This is Shabby Miss Jenn posting for Susan.  Susan had to evacuate her home due to the fires in Southern California. So she asked me to update this blog and let you know that she and her family were evacuated. She thinks that this week's lift and designer will have to be put off for a week.  She will contact the designers when she is able to reschedule. So hopefully all is fine and everyone is staying safe down there. If you need anything, please feel free to comment here and/or send out an email to me here.

Be Patient with me...

we are having some difficulties here - like fire! California is burning and it's pretty close (but not dangerously close) to our house and we have friends evacuated to our house - 4 kids and 2 parents! I will get the blog updated tomorrow and get all the prizes and stuff posted then!! Be safe!

Included are 32 background papers, 60 elements, two alphabets, a quick page and a template! It is absolutely gorgeous and you will be amazed at how versatile it is!!
